Charred body of man found in central Delhi

New Delhi:The charred body of an unidentified man, aged around 20 years, was found inside a tempo parked near the IP Estate flyover in central Delhi today.

The body was discovered by a patrolling team around 1 PM while they were inspecting the apparently abandoned vehicle, which was later impounded, said a senior police official

It is suspected that it is a case of murder. After killing the man, the body was put into the tempo, he added.

Later in the evening, a family approached the police and claimed that it was their son Mohit’s body. Meanwhile, Mohit was found to be the one who owns the tempo, the official said.

The death is suspected to have taken place last night.

The body will also undergo a DNA profiling test to ascertain the identity, after which it will be sent for a post-mortem examination, police added.
