Chennai: One person was arrested on Friday for stealing hair worth Rs 15 lac from a dealer’s house in Valasaravakkam three weeks ago. N. Venkatraman,31, of Annai Sathya Nagar collects hair from Andhra Pradesh and sells them.
Venkatraman had brought four sacks of hair through a person named Yesubabu and stored them at his house in Valasaravakkam while he was negotiating with dealers, as per DC.
“A few of them even visited his house to check the quality of the hair,” a police officer said.
When Venkataraman found that the sacks of hair got pinched, he approached Royala Nagar police. According to Venkataraman’s inputs on those who approached him to buy the hair, police tracked an accused, S. Abu Bakr (39) of Mannadi, near Chennai.
Police are hunting for another three accused. The stolen sacks of hair were recovered after the police broke out in a hidden place of the suspects.
