Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today said that “Chettu-Patta” program is being planned to empower poor as part of Harithaharam project. Planting was planting saplings at Ghatkesar mandal in Medchal district as part of green drive he asked people to protect the plants for greener future.
Chettu patta program will be implemented on talking to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for regular maintenance of the plants by the poor. It is planned that the poor can get the revenue of the plants by selling flowers and fruits in the long run he said. Medchal district has 14 per cent cover against 33 per cent forest cover he said and massive plantation drive will serve the purpose. (NSS)
