China offered aid for Tamil Nadu flood victims

Chennai: The Embassy of China in New Delhi and the Red Cross Society of China recently offered the Government of Tamil Nadu Pradesh aid in cash for flood victims.

While the embassy donated Rs.5 lakhs, the Red Cross Society of China donated USD 50,000 to help the state government overcome the after effects of the disaster.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang forwarded a message of consolation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and condolences to the families of the dead victims and to the survivors.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also sent a message of consolation to his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj.

In a message, the Chinese Embassy said, “It is a friendly tradition for the Governments and peoples of China and India to help each other when disaster falls. Chinese people feel the suffering of the Indian people and stand together with them. We believe the disaster-affected people will be able to overcome the difficulties and get back to normal life soon.” (ANI)
