Beijing: Chinese stocks opened lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.07 per cent to open at 3,120.7 points.
The smaller Shenzhen Component index fell 0.04 per cent to open at 10,330.61 points, Xinhua news agency reported.
The ChiNext Index, China’s NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, retreated 0.16 per cent to open at 1,995 points.
