City Journalists’ housing at Budwel in 100 acres: CM

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced that the State Government will construct an elegant multistoried housing complex for Hyderabad journalists in about 100 acres of land at Budwel area under Rajendranagar mandal in Ranga Reddy district.
The Chief Minister informed this to a delegation comprising Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana and senior journalists K. Srinivas Reddy, Devulapalli Amar, Venkata Chary, Shailesh Reddy, Palle Ravi, Ramesh Hazari, Kranthi, PV Srinivas, Nageshwar Rao, Virahat Ali, Budha Murali, Satish and others at camp office here.
On the directive of the Chief Minister, a team of journalists earlier made a field visit to Budwel area and finalized 100 acres of land which is conducive for construction of housing facility and better connectivity. KCR, while giving his nod to the land, declared to construct the housing facility on the sprawling campus with the best of the amenities. The Chief Minister directed the Panchayat Raj Secretary SP Singh and Rural Development Commissioner Anitha Ramachandran to transfer 100 acres under Rural Development purview to the State government for construction of houses for journalists.
The Chief Minister also asked Ranga Reddy Collector Raghunandan Rao to coordinate for the housing facility for city journalists. Stating that most of the journalists are from lower middle class and middle class, KCR said all journalists of any genre will get housing facility in a phased manner with all better civic amenities in the housing towers. The TRS Government’s aim was to ensure that all journalists make the best of living with permanent shelter in the State, the Chief Minister maintained. In the first phase, housing facility will be provided to journalists of Hyderabad and Warangal and for others at later stage, he said. He also said he would instruct ministers and district Collectors concerned to provide housing facility to the district-level journalists. He also said the State government will construct houses as part of two-bedroom scheme for part time reporters in the State, according to a CMO release. (NSS)
