City markets to remain open in night during Ramadan

Hyderabad: It is likely that the shops and commercial establishments in and around the city will be allowed to be kept open till late in the night during the Holy month of Ramadan.

As reported by Telangana Today, during his visit to Charminar and its surroundings on Thursday night on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat, Hyderabad Police Commissioner, M Mahender Reddy gave an indication about the relaxation. He was speaking to media persons who accompanied him.

Old city markets will be packed with crowds during the month of Ramadan. Hence a bandobast plan is being drafted by the police to ensure safety and security for shoppers.

City police has recently installed closed circuit cameras at all important markets in the city. Apart from them a few more dozen cameras are being installed to monitor the activities.

Special arrangements will be made for parking of vehicles for visitors to the historic Makkah Masjid and other important masajid for ‘taraveeh’ prayers.

The Cyberabad and the Rachakonda police too are proposing to relax the timings for closure of shops in their respective commissionerates.
