New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today stressed on the need for establishing more working women’s hostels and old-age homes in the city.
Inaugurating “Aashirwaad”, an old-age home constructed by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), here the Delhi Chief Minister expressed hope that “proposals for old-age homes and working women’s hostels will be passed without any delay.”
“There is a strong need for more working women’s hostels in Delhi as women feel insecure in the city,” he said.
Meenakshi Lekhi, MP from New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, praised the NDMC administration for providing good facilities at its old-age homes.
NDMC chairperson Naresh Kumar said the old-age home has been constructed to increase the capacity as “these are very popular among senior citizens in the national capital”.
This old-age home can accommodate 60 senior citizens and has facilities like meditation centre, dispensary and a dining space, he added.
