City poll incidents: All-party team to meet PM, President

Demanding the arrest of MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi and his followers immediately, the All Party Committee comprising Congress, TDP, BJP, YSRCP have made it clear that they will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and President Pranab Mukherji to intervene in the issue. They also said the Governor has to initiate action against those persons, who resorted to attacks indiscriminately in Old City during the GHMC elections.
Speaking to the media at Assembly after a two-hour meeting at the Congress Legislature Office (CLP) here on Wednesday along with TTDP President L Ramana, BJLP leader Dr K Laxman, YSRCP leader K Shiva Kumar, BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Opposition leader in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, CLP leader K Jana Reddy alleged that the ruling TRS has resorted to irregularities from the beginning like voters removal from the list, divisions re-organization and announcement of reservations.
On the other hand, TRS party’s alliance party MIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi attacked the TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Opposition leader in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir and destroyed Uttam’s car, he said and demanded that the State government initiate action immediately and arrest Asaduddin Owaisi and his followers for attacking Uttam and Shabbir. He said the State government has to initiate action against Asad or else the investments will not come to the State thinking that the State has law and order problem.
He warned the government that the anti-movements will rake up if the government remains inactive in such incidents. He said that it was not proper to the police to remain spectators in the episode.
Alleging that the TRS party was implemented the plans of MIM party during the GHMC elections, Laxman demanded the government to arrest the persons attacked Congress, BJP, TDP leaders during the GHMC elections. He also demanded the government to file SC/ST Atrocities case against the persons attacked Jangam Met division’s BJP candidate. Lamenting that the democracy was being ridiculed in the newly formed Telangana state, Laxman said that it was the time to the Governor to protect the law and order in Hyderabad city. Alleging that the State Election Commission has confined to a position of inaction, Laxman said that the new state will not get investments in these conditions. He said that they will meet Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and President in this regard. He said the Governor has to initiate action as per Section 8 of Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act in case the State government failed to initiate action against the MIM leader and his cadre as per law.
Condemning the attack on Congress, BJP and TDP leaders by MIM, Ramana said the TDP will raise the issue in the Legislative Assembly. Alleging that the TRS government failed in protecting law and order in the GHMC elections, he said the ruling party distributed money indiscriminately in the elections.
YSRCP leader Shiva Kumar alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s hand was there behind the attacks by MIM party on Congress leaders. He alleged that the Election Commission never took any action against the irregularities took place during the entire election process. (NSS)
