Unlike other states, Telangana State has achieved a superior growth rate of 27.45 per cent pegging the revenue at Rs 1656 cr, Chief Minister KChandrasekhar Rao today claimed.
At a review meeting on state budget presented last March, KCR said that there is tremendous growth of revenue from 10 departments which show very positive results during last two months. The state has seen the revenue of Rs 7,687 cr from commercial taxes, excise, stamps and registration, transport mines and others this year against Rs 6,031 cr last year. If the same positive growth continues to witness the stat will sure touch the revenues of Rs 11,500 cr this fiscal, which is more than that of state owned revenues last year KCR claimed. Compared to other states the revenue growth rate is high he said. This was so, despite drought situation and non favourable situation the state could achieve better revenues he felt. Such positive results of revenue growth can be attributed to various steps such as political stability, reforms, transparent policies, corruption ruling, industrial policy, subsidies spurred boom in real estate and many international events held in the city. In near future the government will go ahead on the path of golden Telangana to boost the schemes for welfare as budget is expected to increase manifold, a CMO release said. (NSS)
