CM to launch Bhakta Ramadas project: Tummala

Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao today claimed that Bhakta Ramadas Lift Irrigation Project was completed in a record time with persistent efforts made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The minister inspected the trial-run works of the project in his home district Khammam on Tuesday which was already launched on Monday by officials. Speaking on the occasion, the minister attributed the speedy completion of the much awaited irrigation project to the regular monitoring by the Chief Minister. KCR has been getting information from time to time of the project and at his behest the officials completed it before the deadline, he said.

The minister extended thanks to KCR, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and department officials and staff for completing the project. The projects being completed before schedule and on time will give fitting reply to those political leaders crying foul, he said. For the prestigious Bhaktaramadas project, the State Government pumped in about Rs 392 crore for its completion that was aimed at irrigating 60,000 acres in drought-prone areas of the district. The Chief Minister will soon launch the project for the farmers, he said.

According to informed sources, KCR is to launch formally the Bhakta Ramadas lift project on February 16. (NSS)
