Collectors conference in Vijayawada from today

A two-day Collectors conference would commence here tomorrow. The meeting would be chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Discussions will be held on the half-yearly achievements, specific strategies which need to be adopted to achieve 15.28% growth rate and about the innovative and best practices which need to be adopted to accelerate growth. The conference would be a platform for the departmental heads to present the status of progress of various projects taken up by the government.

The District Collectors would explain the achievements and developments that have taken place in the districts along with outlaying the growth strategy for the months to come.  Solutions would be sought for the way forward to improve the overall performance of the districts. On the second day of the conference, heads of the medical departments would brief the Chief Minister on the progress of health and disease management operations conducted by their departments. Besides this, the Chief Minister will also review the skill development program and other education and adult literacy programs implemented in the State.

Later, the Infrastructure and Investments department would brief the Chief Minister on the progress of projects being executed within the State.

After lunch, each district Collector would be given eight minutes to explain about the progress of the district, best practices and the growth strategy for their district. (NSS)
