A 21-year-old girl who was allegedly gang-raped over a period of six months by doctor and two policemen committed suicide at her home on Thursday.
It is to be noted that rape case was filed in January 2015, after six month of the gang-rape incident, against Gautam Pandit, doctor and two constables. In her complaint she said that she was gang-raped when she was admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Supela. She was a college student at that time. She had gone for treatment for her face.
She alleged that she was given a drug and raped by the three accused. They also filmed the act to blackmail her. She also alleged that she was blackmailed and gang-raped several times even after she left the hospital.
It is to be noted that FIR was launched in January 2015 and three accused was sent to jail but she wrote in her suicide note that she did not think she would get justice. She committed suicide by hanging in a room at her home.
However, police officers is suspicious that there might be a pressure on the girl to withdraw the case as girl’s relatives have in the past alleged that they were pressured to withdraw the case. Meanwhile Pradeep Gupta, IG of Police, Durg said that law will take its course.
