Comment on CM Yogi lands Zakir Ali in jail

Muzaffarnagar: A youth named Zakir Ali Tyagi has been arrested last night over comment on CM Yogi Adityanath and River Ganga on social media.

The incident took place under Kotwali police station limits in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Naveed Chaudhary, who is close to Zakir told The Siasat Daily Hindi, “Zakir had commented on a post on social media that if Ganges river is’ living human entity’, then in case of any person drowning, will a case be prosecuted for Ganga?’

Zakir’s comment pointed towards the recent Uttarakhand High Court verdict that accorded the status of “living human entities” to the Ganga and Yamuna, two of India’s most sacred rivers.

Meanwhile, Zakir’s cousin and journalist Wasim Akram Tyagi told that the police had been monitoring Zakir’s Facebook Wall for the past three months. On this basis, the police have prepared a complete file, in which about 20 posts of Zakir on CM Yogi Adityanath have been taken.

Moreover, Zakir has a Facebook display photograph (dp) of Sub-Inspector Akhtar Khan killed in an encounter with goons in Greater Noida’s Dadri area.

Police have booked Zakir under section 420 of IPC.

The Siasat Daily reporter tried to get in touch with Muzaffarnagar cop over the phone but in vain.
