Commissioner issued Ban order in Hyderabad

City Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy, today issued orders prohibiting public meetings and processions within the Hyderabad City, without obtaining police permission. The order is effective from 6 am on August 8 to 6 am on August 14.

 

The commissioner prohibited carrying of lethal weapons like swords, spears, knives, sticks, bludgeons, guns, explosives in the city. He also prohibited gathering of persons on public roads or public places disturbing peace and order or causing inconvenience, annoyance or danger to public.

The commissioner also banned use of mikes/public address system by different organisations around the Secretariat premises, including Burgula Rama Krishna Rao Building, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Building, Commissioner of Fisheries building, Mint Compound, Nizam College and its surroundings, Telangana / A.P. Legislative Assembly premises and surrounding roads, Public Garden Nampally, Upper Tankbund, I–MAX, Rotary and NTR Marg roads also fly-over road leading from Secretariat to Visweswarayya statue, Khairatabad. Any person violating the order will be prosecuted under Hyderabad City Police Act, he stated, adding police officers on duty,Military personnel on duty, Home Guards on duty,bonafide funeral processions are exempted.
