Committed for beedi workers’ welfare: Kavitha

TRS MP from Nizamabad K Kavitha today urged the Centre to reduce the picture size of “skull & cross bones” on beedi bundles from 80 per cent to 50 per cent.

Speaking to mediapersons in Delhi today, Kavitha said she appealed to the Centre to stop a GO issued on the same and scheduled to be implemented from April 1. “I also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard”, she said. The TRS Government was striving for the welfare of Beedi workers in the State. She also said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s power point presentation on irrigation projects speaks volumes on government’s commitment for farmers. She suggested that the Opposition parties give constructive suggestions on the projects instead of resorting to meaningless criticism due to jealousy. (NSS)
