Committed for Dalit categorisation : Srihari

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today recalled that Babu Jagjivan Ram was a freedom fighter and strived hard for the cause of the poor and deprived class.
Paying rich tributes to Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 109th birth anniversary in Warangal, the deputy chief minister stated that the government will put in efforts to implement his ideals of equality, development of poor and uplift of Dalits in the state. We are ready to install a statue of Jagjivan Ram in the city he said and asked the officials to find out a suitable place. The State Government is in favour of categorization of Dalits and will take an all party team to Centre during next Parliament session he said. We are aiming to distribute 2 lakh acres this year to implement three acres a Dalit scheme in the said and helping them financially to maintain it for at least one year. Srihari said that the TRS Government allotted Rs 10,800 cr for Dalit welfare through Sub Plan and committed for their growth he said. Citing that Gurukul students set a world record of sorts by scaling Himalayas he said that Dalits are not fewer to anyone and show their mettle by getting an opportunity with skills and knowledge .
