Hyderabad: Accusing central government of playing vote bank politics by raking up Uniform Civil Code issue before Uttar Pradesh elections, legal expert Osman Shaheed advocate told that Uniform Civil Code issue is far critical than the issue of more than one marriage and triple Talaq. He further claimed that Communal forces wish to change the democratic system by imposing Uniform Civil Code. Keeping silent on Uniform Civil Code issue is like inviting a big problem. Addressing a meeting entitled ‘Common Civil Code and Political Trend’ organised by Elders’ Think Tank and Sadaat Welfare and Education Society, at Aligarh Club, Basheer Bagh, Mr. Osman Shaheed said that Muslims need to work together sinking their sectarian differences on this sensitive issue. He told that Uniform Civil Code is damaging for every Muslim.

Mr. Inamul Rahman Ghayoor, Mr. Nanak Singh Nashtar, President MPJ Mr. Khaja Moinuddin, Mr. Aliuddin Quadri and others also addressed on the occasion.

They felt that enforcing Uniform Civil Code will damage the secular structure of the country as every Indian citizen has a right to live a life according to his/her religion.
