Communal Harmony: Hindus distributes Ice-cream among Muslims during Milad procession

In what we can describe as a best gesture of communal harmony, Hindus in Mangaluru, Ullal distributed Ice creams among Muslim participants while Muslim community takes out a procession on the occasion of Eid Milad un-Nabi.

Rally was held in Dargah town of Ullal, one of the pilgrimage centers at Karnataka. Over 10,000 devotees from 33 mosques that fall under the jurisdiction of Ullal Dargah including Mudipu, Kuthar, Boliyar, Eliyarpadavu, Konaje, Gramachavadi ,Madaninagara, Pavoor and Inoli mosques took part in the procession.

Jagjeevan, Kishor Shetty , Nagraj Bhat and Ganesh Achary, all from Ullal, were among those who distributed ice-cream among Muslim friends to spread the message of harmony.

Speaking on the occasion, Khazi called upon the Muslims to follow the lifestyle of the Prophet (PBUH) and develop good relationship with people of other faiths.

The procession which started at Kotepura Jama Masjid passed through main streets of Ullal town, Melangadi ,Mukkacheri Azad Nagar, and culminated in the premises of Sayyad Madani.

Processions were held in other parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts too.
