Complaint against three FTII students for manhandling alumnus

A police complaint has been filed against three students of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) for allegedly manhandling an alumnus, who is a freelance photographer.

In his complaint filed at the Deccan Gymkhana police station, Avadhoot Potdar alleged that the three students abused and manhandled him when he went to the FTII hostel to visit a friend. The complaint was registered under IPC sections 323, 427 and 504, police said, adding that the matter is being investigated, though no arrests have been made in the case.

However, the three students have denied the allegations. A few days ago, police had filed an FIR against some FTII students based on a complaint of harassment by an institute employee. The students concerned had denied the allegation. So far, no action has been initiated by the police in both the cases.
