Complete SRSP Stage-II Pending Canal Works: Harish Directs Officials

Major Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has directed the officials concerned to complete the pending works of the SRSP Stage-II and provide water to 3.97 lakh acres in the coming Kharif season. He revealed that the Mid-Maner works were going on war foot. He said that 25 TMCs of water from Mid-Maner and 25 TMCs from Lower Maner would be released this year and directed the officials to complete SRSP Stage-II canals immediately and make them ready for the operation.

The Minister conducted a review meeting at Jalasoudha on Saturday along with Power Minister G Jagdeesh Reddy. The Minister reviewed the works of land acquisition and the condition of canals. He made it clear to officials to complete all packages works before Kharif season setting targets. He warned the officials that he will not tolerate the officials in case they adopted negligent attitude in completing the works and said that he will demote the officials in case they failed to work efficiently. He asked engineering officials to leave the offices and make field visits immediately. He opined that the real conditions would be known only when the officials went around canals. He suggested DEE, EE and SEs to solve the problems in acquiring land by keeping in touch in touch with the local MLAs and other public representatives.
