Cong SC cell demands VK Singh’s resignation over dog remark

Jaipur: Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee’s Scheduled Caste (SC) cell today termed VK Singh’s dog remark on Dalit killing in Faridabad as “highly derogatory” and demanded his resignation over the matter.

In a joint statementissued here, PCC-SC cell Divisional Convenors Tikaram Juli, Goparam Meghwal and Govind Ram Meghwal alleged that it was “highly derogatory” that Union minister VK Singh “compared” Dalits with a dog and it “amounts” to violation of human rights SC people.

“Hence MoS Singh should tender his resignation or the PM should seek his resignation,” they said.

They further alleged the atrocities against Salits, SC/ST and women were rising in Rajasthan and the Raje government was sitting pretty on all cases.

They highlighted communal tensions on the occasion of Muharram, when one man was allegedly murdered in Bhilwara and curfew was imposed in Sridungargarh after communal clashes, the party said.

The BJP government in Rajasthan should ensure safety of every citizen and protect the rights of Dalit, SC and ST (Scheduled Tribes), they demanded.

VK Singh kicked up a huge political row when he tried to shield the government from blame in the Faridabad Dalit burning incident, saying the “government cannot be held responsible if somebody stones a dog”.
