Congolese National Pastor dubs Parsekar’s ‘Goans annoyed with Nigerians’ remark baseless

New Delhi : Congolese National Pastor Bertin Ektah on Wednesday dubbed Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s remarks about Goans not being happy with the Nigerians’ behavior as a ‘misguided argument’, saying he cannot put all Africans under the same radar and treat them as menace.

Bertin said if one person has done something wrong then you cannot blame everyone for that, adding generalizing all the Americans on the basis of such a miserable incident is wrong.

“The statements made by the Goa Chief Minister about Nigerians are wrong and baseless. In fact at some point I fail to understand the minister’s comments. Not all the Africans are bad. I know some good Nigerians in India and I also know of some bad Nigerians in Africa. There are always a bunch of good people balancing the deeds of bad people,” Bertin told ANI.

In the recent past, incidents of African nationals being attacked in various parts of the nation have been reported and instigated a huge debate over security issues.

External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj yesterday met a delegation of African students to address their grievances where she condemned the killing of a Congolese youth Oliver as ‘heinous’ and ‘unacceptable’.

She, however, denied the charges of racial attack. (ANI)
