New Delhi, Dec. 9 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday alleged that the Congress Party has always attacked institutions, including the judiciary, when they find the orders of the court do not suit them.
BJP leader Nalin Kohli lashed out at the opposition for leveling baseless allegations against the government post the order issued against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi by a Delhi Court.
“The government is not involved in issuing a court order; the Prime Minister’s institution is not involved in it. Somehow, one finds that the Congress Party always attacked the institutions including the judiciary, when they find the court orders don’t suit them. One has to go back in the history and we will find that even laws have been changed when they found that the court order didn’t meet their politics,” said Kohli.
“What kind of allegation is this, how can courts deliver political judgment. The court has come out with a reasoned order. If they don’t like it, they can challenge it but they can’t call the court’s order a political vendetta,” he added.
Kohli further said the complaint was filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy in January 2013 when the UPA was in power.
Expressing faith in the country’s judicial system, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday reiterated that the court’s order in the National Herald case was the result of political vendetta coming from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
“This is 100 percent pure political vendetta coming out of the Prime Minister’s Office. This is their way of doing politics. I have full faith in the legal system of this country and we will see at the end what comes out…the truth will come out,” Gandhi told reporters here.
He further escalated the attack on the BJP Government, saying they know who is actually threatening the judicial system of the nation.(ANI)
