Congress expels former MP Jagmeet Singh Brar

Chandigarh : The Congress on Monday expelled former lawmaker Jagmeet Singh Brar from the primary membership of the grand old party.

Earlier, several Punjab Congress leaders and legislators had sought the expulsion of Brar from the party for alleged ‘gross indiscipline and rebellious activities’.

Brar, however, had dared the party to expel him, saying “If my expulsion helps the Congress win the assembly polls then I am prepared for it. But the expulsion should not be on the recommendation of Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh.”

Brar’s name was recommended for disciplinary action by the state unit of the party to the high command for his ‘outbursts’ against Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh in public.
