Congress fooling farmers: TRS

Karimnagar MP and TRS senior leader B. Vinod Kumar found fault with those opposing the creation of new districts.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Vinod Kumar said that the new districts were being carved out for development and administrative ease. He said that the Opposition parties were trying to create hurdles in creation of new districts.

The TRS leader lashed out at the Congress saying that the party was trying to fool the farmers in the name of holding Ryhthu Garjana meeting in Adilabad. Congress ignored the farmers’ issues during its tenure and now the party was trying to project itself as farmer friendly, he remarked.

He said that the state government would take up the redesigning of the projects only after taking up the Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) survey, which  proposed by the Government of Telangana for re-designing of several irrigation projects. He said that the Yellampally, Mid-Manair and LMD reservoirs would get water from Medigadda project.  The MP also said that the Thotapalli reservoir would be taken up without the threat of submergence.  He reminded that the previous Congress government did not object to the numerous illegal project that were thriving up in Maharastra and Karnataka. He said that the state government was committed for the welfare of farmers and was taking all sorts of steps to help them. (INN)
