Congress to launch stir against “anti-people” policies of KCR govt

TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said his party has decided to wage a war against the “anti-people” policies of the TRS government.

On Saturday, the TPCC organized Party Coordination Committee meeting at Gandhi Bhavan. Senior leaders TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TSCLP leader K Jana Reddy, Leader of the Opposition in the Council Mohammed Shabbir Ali, former ministers Dr J Geetha Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Ponnala Laxmaiah and others participated in the meeting.

Speaking to the media later, Bhatti Vikramarka said the meeting has decided to wage a war against the “anti-people” policies of the TRS government. He said they also decided to take the ensuing Warangal Lok Sabha by-election very seriously and strive for win of the Congress candidate. He alleged that the TRS government was not concentrating on completion of important irrigation projects like Pranahitha-Chevella, Indira Sagar, Dummugudem.

Before taking up water grid, the State government should complete the Pranahitha-Chevella, Indira Sagar and Dummugudem projects. “If these projects are completed, there would not be any drinking water problem in the State”, he said, adding that it was not proper on the part of the TRS government to change the design of the Pranahitha-Chevella project.

Bhatti said the Congress has decided to start a fight with the State government for completion of Hyderabad Metro works, which were stalled now. “Due to Metro project alignment change, the commuters are burdened with Rs 6,000 crore”, he alleged and said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was speaking one thing in the morning and another in the evening.

The TPCC working president said his party will decide about how to launch an agitation against cheap liquor after discussing with DCC presidents. “It is sad on the part of KCR to bring cheap liquor policy at the cost of the poor families in the State”, he said, adding they would launch agitation from the village level.

Sridhar Babu said prices of the essential commodities were skyrocketing in the State. He alleged that the onion price was uncontrollable in the State. (NSS)
