Irrigation minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday said that the Congress was extending its lip sympathy towards farmers by holding farmers rally in Adilabad.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Harish Rao said that it was Congress, who was responsible for farmers suicides in the state. Due to the anti-farmers policies of previous Congress regime, numerous farmers ended their lives. He claimed that the TRS government was doling out farmers by extending numerous pro-farmers initiatives and other sops. The farmers now have easy access to quality seeds and fertilizers due to the pro-farmers policies of the state government, the minister said.
Meanwhile, Nizamabad MP K. Kavita said that the Mallannasagar project would benefit the farmers of Nizamabad district and demanded that the project be executed at the earliest. She came down heavily on AICC leader Digvijay Singh saying that he was misleading farmers. What does he know about Telangana?, she questioned. (INN)
