Senior Congress leaders from city called on AICC President Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi on Tuesday.
Led by GHCC Minorities Department chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail, a delegation comprising of TPCC Secretary M. Vijay Kumar, GHCC Secretary Syed Nizamuddin, contested candidates Mohammed Ghouse and Sajid Shareef and other leaders, met the Congress president at 10 Janpath in New Delhi. They discussed about the Congress party’s campaign, performance and outcome in the recently held GHMC elections.
Abdullah Sohail briefed Sonia Gandhi on party’s campaign in the Old City of Hyderabad and also submitted a report. They also informed that a national minorities’ convention was being organised in the Old City next month wherein several senior leaders of Congress party from across the country would participate.
According to sources, the Congress president appreciated the efforts being made by Abdullah Sohail and his team in strengthening the party in the Old City of Hyderabad. (INN)
