Congress not serious about farmers’ welfare: TRS MP

TRS MP Balka Suman on Monday alleged that the Congress leaders were shedding crocodiles’ tears for farmers of Telangana.

Speaking to media persons here, Suman asked the Congress leaders to list out the measures that they took for the welfare of Telangana farmers during their 10-year rule. He said that the TRS Government has waived off crop loans of over Rs. 17,000 crore, provided input subsidy of Rs. 400 crore and took several initiatives in the last 17 months. He said that the Congress leaders were unable to digest the developmental works launched by the TRS Government and therefore, targeting it to divert people’s attention.

Suman said that the Mission Kakatiya was successfully implemented and nearly 46,000 tanks and lakes were cleaned across the State. Further, he said a comprehensive plan was finalised for effective utilisation of Godavari and Krishna Rivers. He alleged that the Congress has failed to play the role of a constructive opposition party. (INN)
