Congress shedding crocodile tears on farmers’ issue: Kavita

Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP and TRS leader K Kavita on Monday said that the State Government was committed to the welfare of the farmers in the state and was making strenuous efforts for their welfare.

Speaking at a programme here, the TRS MP said that the state government has fixed the MSP of Rs. 2,400 for soya beans which is among the highest in the country. She suggested the farmers to sell their crop yield at the market yards to get fair prices for their produce. She inaugurated a new Power Substation at vempally village of Balkonda mandal.

Kavita said that the State Government has allocated a fund of Rs 50 crore for the welfare of sugarcane growers. She slammed the Congress saying that its leaders were doing theatrics on the farmers’ issues. She questioned as to what steps Sudarshan Reddy took as Agriculture minister in the Congress government. She said that the Congress leaders were shedding crocodile tears on the farm issues now.

Later in the day she took part in the first review meeting of the newly formed Jagitial District. She also distributed fishes to the fisheries as part of blue revolution initiative of the State Government at Chintakunta Cheruvu in Jagitial. Party leader Dr Sanjay Kumar and others were present. (INN)
