Congress strategy to instill confidence in Minorities – Rahul Gandhi meets Muslim leaders of Congress

Bangalore: Vice President of AICC, Mr. Rahul Gandhi commissioned 5-8 Muslim leaders of Congress Party from each State to formulate strategy to instill confidence among Muslims. The meeting was held in Bangalore.

Mr. Roshan Baig, Minister for Urban Development, Mr. Tanveer Saith, Minister for Secondary Education, Mr. UT Qader, Minister for Civil Supplies, Dr. Qamarul Islam, former Minister, Mr. Y. Saeed Ahmed, Chairman, Minorities Cell, Mr. Saleem Ahmed, Representative of Karnatka in Delhi, Mr. Faroz Nooruddin Saith, MLA and Mr. Rizwan Arshad, MLC represented the delegation of Muslim leaders of Congress of Karnataka.

In order to strengthen Congress Party, the members were selected on the basis of draw to put forth their views. Among the Karnataka leaders, the name of Mr. Roshan Baig was drawn in the draw. He expressed the anxiety of Minorities of the increasing communalism in various States. He informed that after the demolition of Babri Masjid and during the tenure of present NDA Govt. after Dadri incident, atrocities are being meted out to Muslims in the name of cow protection etc.

Muslims have an impression that Congressmen get closer to them when elections are held. Does Congress need only votes from Muslims? The other members also presented their views. Mr. Rahul Gandhi gave a patient hearing to all the views and assured that appropriate action would be taken.
