Alleging that the TRS government has changed the name of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad’s Sujala Sravanthi Scheme into Mission Bhagiratha and indulging in falsehood campaign in this regard, the TPCC asked the Prime Minister to stay away from inaugurating Mission Bhagiratha Scheme and participate in other programs.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting the State on August 7 to inaugurate several developmental schemes, including Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda village in Gajwel constituency in Medak district.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday along with party leaders Mohammed Ali Shabbir, T Jagga Reddy, M Konda Reddy, Mallu Ravi, Arepally Mohan and Konagala Mahesh, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the TRS government has changed the name of the Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Sujala Sravanthi Scheme, which was launched in December 2008 to bring 30 tmcft of water to Hyderabad in three phases from Godavari river, into Mission Bhagiratha and diverted the Moulana Abul Kalam Azad scheme water to Gajwel. “It is not correct on the part of the TRS government to make the Prime Minister to inaugurate the scheme by changing old scheme’s name”, he alleged. He also alleged that IT Minister KT Ramarao too spread falsehood during GHMC elections to win the elections by inaugurating Godavari water to Hyderabad scheme.

Stating that the Congress party was not against providing water to Gajwel constituency, Uttam said the TRS government has to bring the water with special scheme but not changing the Moulana Abul Kalam Azad’s Sujala Sravanthi Scheme. Welcoming the Prime Minister’s visit to Telangana State two years after the formation of the State, Uttam urged the Prime Minister to make a statement on assurances given to Telangana State in the AP Re-organization Act — Kazipet Railway Coach Factory, Special High Court, Steel Factory and Horticulture and Tribal University.

Alleging that the TRS government changed the name of Pranahitha-Chevella project, which was named after Dr BR Ambedkar, as Kaleswaram Project and Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Sujala Sravanthi Scheme as Mission Bhagiratha, Shabbir Ali charged the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao with that the latter was an expert in speaking lies. He urged the Prime Minister not to inaugurate the Mission Bhagiratha Scheme. (NSS)
