Congress workers burn effigy of UP government

IYC Protests

Ghaziabad: Hundreds of Congress workers here protested against police lathi-charge on party cadres outside Uttar Pradesh assembly in Lucknow today and burnt effigy of the state government at Tehsil headquarters here.

Addressing the workers at the headquarters, former Congress MP Surendra Prakash Goyal said the state government has completely failed in crime control and is bent upon suppressing the voice of opposition.

District president Harendra Kasana said lathi-charge on the congress workers today while they had assembled for ‘Vidhan Sabha Gherao’ is an indication that the ruling SP government is crushing the voice of masses who speak against their ‘failure’.
