Hyderabad: After BJP assumed power in the center, atrocities on Dalits, Muslims, Tribals and intellectuals have increased. It is to ensure implementation of Hindutva agenda. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Ram Punyani who is the harbinger of Hindu-Muslim unity. He was addressing a gathering at Mahboob Husain Jigar Hall, Siasat office compound yesterday. It was organized by Swaraj Abhiyan Peace Committee in collaboration with Siasat Urdu Daily. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily presided over the meeting.
It may be mentioned that Mr. Ram Punyani resigned the prestigious job of IIT Mumbai for promotion of communal harmony in the country. He heavily criticized the Modi government and told that although NDA is in power but only one person is overshadowing in every matter. Mr. Punyani pointed out that Modi had made lofty claims of “Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas”. He had also shown the dreams of getting Rs. 15 lakh deposited in every Indian citizen’s bank account. Not a single promise was fulfilled during the past two years. Modi is functioning as an autocrat. Without mentioning Modi’s name, Mr. Ram Punyani told that he is an expert in telling lies. He quoted the example of Hitler’s minister Goebbels. He used to say that if a lie is repeated 100 times, people will take it as a truth.
Mr. Ram Punyani condemned the attacks on Dalits and Muslims in the name of cow protection and said that it is a very dangerous trend. He told that at present, Dalits are in miserable condition. They are being targeted deliberately. The communalism of RSS is the plan of BJP. He mentioned that there are many political parties but there is no organization to control them but BJP is controlled from Nagpur. Every order issued from Nagpur is implemented.
In his lecture, Mr. Ram Punyani told that communal elements have no interest in Dalits. They don’t consider them as human beings. They also have an apprehension that Dalits and Muslims would be united. He cited the example of the death of Rohit Vemula of University of Hyderabad. His death occurred since the film “Muzaffarnagar Bakhi hai” was being released by Ambedkar Students’ Association. They had raised their voice against the hanging of Yakub Memon. They had also participated in Beef festivals. He mentioned that in communal riots of Mumbai, more than 1000 Muslims were killed but not a single person was punished whereas in Mumbai Bomb Blast 235 lives were lost. Due to this Yakub Memon was hanged. In the cases of Rubina Memon and Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, narrow-mindedness and partiality was meted out.
The communal elements have created many issues to disturb the peace of the country but beef eating and cow protection is the most dangerous issue. These forces have made it an issue to exhibit their identity. This issue could take a serious turn in the future. It may be remembered that the communal elements were successful in dividing the people on the issue of Babri Masjid demolition. Now these people have raised the issue of cow slaughter. Cow is available in every nook and corner of the country. Muslims have to deal with this issue in a very tactful manner. Attempts are being made to associate Muslim youths with ISIS whereas America had promoted the term “Islamic terrorism” after the incident of 9/11 whereas Islam is a religion which considers the murder of 1 person as the murder of the entire humanity. Islam can never preach terrorism. Mr. Punyani was of the opinion that Al-Qaida, ISIS and similar terrorist organization are the creating of America which has been confessed by Ms. Hillary Clinton herself.
Mr. Ram Punyani warned that communal forces have given free hand in Modi Govt. Anti-Muslim and Anti-Dalit policies are being implemented. In his opinion the issue pertaining to “Love Jihad” is meant to defame the Muslim youth and to humiliate Hindu girls. He pointed that right from the reigns of Maharajas till the democratic rule, the rulers have promoted hatred.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, in his presidential speech told that the name of the voice against communal elements is Ram Punyani. He also mentioned that the identity of Hyderabad is its humility. Mr. Adil Mohammed conducted the meeting.
