Cow Vigilantes stab student for refusing to take pictures of their protest

Rohtak: A BA second year student Shivam was allegedly stabbed multiple times by cow vigilante group when he refused to click pictures of the protest.

The incident took place in Gohana town of Sonepat District, Haryana where the cow vigilante group Gau Raksha Seva Dal were protesting, demanding sedition charges be pressed against the Congress workers who defied the Centre’s order on the ban of slaughtering of cattle, by slaughtering a cow in public last Saturday.

Shivam who attended the event with his journalist friend was holding his friend’s camera when the protestors asked him to take pictures of them handing the memorandum to the District officials.

Mistaking him for a photographer and on his denial, that turned into an argument which was appeased by the other protestors.

The group then followed him after the protest and confronted him in a market where Shivam was stabbed multiple times with knives on his stomach and chest said the Police.

He is now serious and is admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon.

Inspector Kuldeep Deswal said, “He was admitted to local hospital initially but taken to Delhi because of his condition”.

Police have arrested a 19 yr old Mohit who is identified as the main suspect and is searching the other two suspects both his relatives, Hindustan times reported.
