CPI asks CM to announce credit plan for farmers

CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has demanded the state government to announce loan plan to the farmers immediately. He also demanded the Chief Minister to set up Agriculture Loan-Liberty Commission.

In a pressnote issued here on Monday, Chada said that not announcing agriculture loan plan shows the negligent attitude of the state government towards farmers though the rainy season started. The government failed to provide minimum support price to the farmers. The government was confined to spectator role in market yards though the middle men controlled the purchases, he alleged.

The amount Rs 25,000 was not yet deposited in farmers accounts under fourth phase of loan waiver scheme, he pointed out. The farmers were doing agriculture activities depending upon the private loans and they were facing mental agony. (NSS)
