CPI Demands Vigilance Inquiry into the Building Collapse

CPI Telangana state council demanded the state government to order vigilance inquiry into 260 yards seven-storeyed building collapse incident in which 20 persons died and initiate stringent action against the persons concerned.

CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has demanded the GHMC to give Rs.10 lakh each exgratia to the kin of the deceased. He made it clear that the GHMC officials concerned particularly deputy commissioner indulged in irregularities in giving permissions though the builder constructing the building for the last four years. He lamented that it was unfortunate that the building collapse incidents were taking place in Hyderabad frequently though the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stated that he will initiate action against the illegal constructions. He asked the TRS government, which desecrates the poor peoples’ huts immediately in the name of illegal constructions, as to why it failed to behave in the same manner towards big builders and big babus. He alleged that the Municipal Minister KT Ramarao speaks newly but in practice nothing he shows new. He asked the government to order an inquiry into the incident and initiate action to see that the incidents not to repeat. (NSS)
