CPI deplores TRS govt’s negligence towards drought

Communist Party of India, Telangana State Council, today took several decisions in its State executive meeting held between April 9 and 10 here at Maqdhoom Bhavan.

The meeting found fault with the Telangana State government’s negligent attitude towards drought conditions prevailing in the State. The meeting also found fault with the State government for introducing a huge Plan budget than non-plan budget this year. The meeting demanded that the State government waive farmers’ loans in one installment. The meeting felt that the government should convene a meeting with engineering experts and all-party leaders to study utilization of Godavari waters deeply to take a decision.

 

The CPI also decided to take the party to the people and decided to conduct Ambedkar Jayanthi on April 14 across the State. The party decided to set up three teams to study the drought conditions in the State. Every team will visit three districts on April 16, 17, 18 and later the teams will submit a report to the government. Party senior leaders Azeez Pasha, G Mallesh will visit Adilabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts. Palla Venkat Reddy, Erla Narsimha, Pashya Padma will visit Ranga Reddy, Medak and Mahbubnagar districts. Siddi Venkateshwarlu, Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, R Ravindra Kumar would visit Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda districts.

 

The CPI also decided to stage dharnas, agitations on April 20 and 21 in front of Mandal offices and at Collectorates on April 25 demanding that the government launch drought relief works immediately on a war-footing.

The party also decided to prepare a complete water policy on irrigation projects and to bring a book-let on it. Pashya Padma will be the convener and Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao and Erla Narasimha will work as members to prepare a water policy. The party decided to set up Ambali centers across the State under the aegis of CPI party. The party will conduct training camps from April 15 to June 15. The party set up Intellectual Forum and V Ramnarasimha Rao will be the convener, BSR Mohan Reddy, Bommagani Prabhakar will be the members. (NSS)
