CPI General Secretary appeals probe against the sons of Venkaiah Naidu and KCR for police vehicle purchase scam

Hyderabad: Mr. T. Veerabhadram, General Secretary of CPM demanded probe against KT Rama Rao and Venkaiah Naidu’s son in connection with the purchase of vehicles for Police Dept.

He said that as Minister, Mr. KTR violated the rules. Election Commission should take action against him. He demanded his resignation.

He alleged that the trust ‘Swarnabahrati’ which is managed by Vekaiah Naidu’s daughter was given a tax rebate of Rs. 2 crore by TRS Govt. when Mr. Venkaiah Naidu was Minister of Urban Development.

Govt. of Telangana purchased vehicles for police from Harsha Toyata, a company managed by Venkaiah Naidu’s son and Himanshu Company managed by Mr. KTR without inviting tenders. This company was closed down in 2013.

CPM leaders produced evidence and said that in 2015, Mr. KTR filed income tax return signing as its director. Comrade Veerabhadram alleged that Mr. KTR being the director of the company while functioning as minister violated the rules which is in contravention of section 9 and 10 of the election code.
