CPI(M) demands regularisation of daily wage workers

Srinagar: The state unit of the CPI(M) has demanded a concrete policy for the regularization of the daily wage workers who have been engaged in various departments.

“Successive regimes are responsible for the appalling condition of the daily wagers, causal and need based workers.

There is need for concrete measures to regularize these workers in a time bound manner”, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said.

Tarigami took a strong exception to the government’s lackadaisical approach towards the plight of the PHE daily wagers and the ITI trained workers who have been protesting for several days.

He said successive governments’ have always been making deceptive commitments to buy time and avoid the crisis.

“It is appalling that successive governments in J&K have not fulfilled their commitments made with the daily wagers, causal labourers and ITI trained people working in different departments for the last over a decade.

The administrative apathy towards their genuine issues is against justice and fair play,” Tarigami said.

The CPI (M) leader called for immediate and time bound regularization of all daily wagers, casual labourers, ITI trained, and other daily rated workers.

The CPI(M) leader stressed on the need for a regularization policy to be formulated by the government under which all these workers are absorbed in different departments in a time bound manner
