CPI’s Plea to Centre on Cases Against T Protagonists

Hyderabad:

Communist Party of India, Telangana State Council has urged the Centre to withdraw the  cases filed by the Railways on Telangana protagonists during Telangana movement.

CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy addressed a letter to the Union Labor Minister Bandaru Dattatreya in this regard on Sunday. He said in the letter that TRS, CPI, BJP, CPI (ML) and New Democracy parties participated in the movement directly. He said, “Railways department filed cases against me and the then CPI MLA Gunda Mallesh along with several others including the MLAs, MPs and Ministers of the present government. Presently, BJP is in power at Centre. You played active role in the movement along with several political leaders”.  It was atrocious on the part of the Railways,  as it  filed cases against several leaders and activists though they never  caused harm to the properties of Railways. The activists were losing their time and finances due to the cases of the Railways by attending the courts. He asked Dattatreya to respond on the cases and make the Railways to withdraw the  cases against the T  protagonists. (NSS)
