CPI’s protest against attacks of Gowrakshaks

Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (Marxist) organized a dharna program at Indira Park yesterday to record their protest against the attacks of Gowrakshaks against Muslims and Dalits. The dharna program was led by Mr. M.Srinivas, City Central Secretary of CPI (M). Mr. G. Nagayah told that during two year regime of state and central governments, atrocities on Dalits and Muslims have increased. These attacks are occurring mostly in BJP led State Governments. He further told that RSS agents in the guise of Gowrakshaks are attacking Dalits and Muslims. He pointed out that 25 students have committed suicide so far. The suicide of Rahit Vemula of Hyderabad Central University is one of them. These atrocities have increased since 2014.

Mr. B. Venkat, member of CPI (M) told that due to the softening of relations with communal elements, TRS has failed to curb the activities of the communal elements. TRS Govt. of Telangana avoided taking any action against the culprits responsible for Rohit Vemula’s suicide, registered fake cases against the agitating students and sent them to jail. He mentioned that no action has been taken against Raja Singh, BJP MLA of Ghosha Mahal who said that those who slaughter cows will also be slaughtered. He alleged that TRS Govt. is lenient toward Raja Singh and other communal elements. He demanded the Govt. to take stern action against those who make communal speeches and spread hatred.
