Theft of gold ornaments, domestic help arrested

(Siasat News): Kanchan Bagh police has arrested a domestic help in connection with the theft of gold ornaments in the house of an aged couple.

According to police, Iqbal Raju, 75, retired employee of Sarojini Hospital and his wife Vidyavathi, 60, retired RDL employee, are the residents Road No. 12, of Yadagiri Colony in Champapet.

The couple had gone out of their house and in the meantime, taking advantage of their absence, some unidentified persons stole 40 tolas gold ornaments from the house.

When the couple returned home last night, they came to know about the theft. Vidyavathi immediately called the police and it reached the spot with clue team.

During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Vidyavcathi, while going out, had left the keys of the almirah on the table. Taking advantage of the presence of the keys, some unidenfied persons might have opened the almirah and had made their escape good with the booty.

However, police has arrested the domestic help Sreesha, 19 and interrogation is still on. Further development in this case is awaited.
