Attempt to sell the girl child foiled, five arrested
(Siasat News): Police has arrested five persons including two women allegedly involved in an attempt to sell a girl child.
Inspector Yacharam police station J Madanmohan Reddy said the couple belonged to Devarkunda of Nalgonda district has decided to sell their infant as it was their third female child in a row.
To finalize the deal, the parents of the girl child contacted one of their distant relatives. However, the matter here is of the middle men.
As the husband and wife who had purchased the girl child for Rs. 50,000 whereas the middlemen in this deal paid only Rs. 10,000 to the seller couple.
When police got a tip-off in this connection, it immediately came into action and arrested five persons including two women brokers Shikhri and Sunitha and the girl child was recovered from their possession.
