Criminal case filed against Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leaders

Ludhiana: A criminal case has been filed against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Sanjay Singh, Bhagwant Mann and other leaders in Punjab on charges of creating communal tension and spreading terrorism in the state.

“My client has lodged a complaint. This is a criminal case. The punishment can stretch up to two years,” complainant’s lawyer S.K. Uppal said.

The criminal case is filed under Section 595 and 295A of India Penal Code (IPC) in a Ludhiana court.

The complainant Jagdeep Singh Gill, who is a president of an NGO Samaj Jagriti Front, has alleged that AAP leaders had distributed posters of former Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala on his birthday on February 12.

The court has accepted the application and will hear the case on March 19.
