CS assures to solve Home Guards’ problems

The State Government would consider resolving all the issues pertaining to Home Guards in the State.

Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma today held discussions with a delegation of Home Guards on their demands and problems. Rajiv Sharma, who patiently heard them, assured to look into their issues by taking the same to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

It may be mentioned here that the Home Guards took part in protest programs to press the State government on their chronic problems. They demanded that the government provide them job security, separate law for them, hike in salary, health cards, maternity leave for women home guards and benefits on par with government employees and police.

Talking to mediapersons at Secretariat, the Home Guards leaders said Dr Rajiv Sharma assured them to resolve their issues by talking to the Chief Minister. “We have urged him to address the issues such as job security, separate law and welfare measures and lifting of cases against them for participating in protest programs”, they said. They also hoped that the State government will address their issues at the earliest. (NSS)
