Cyber crime cops nab 3 for pirating films

Today the Cyber Crime Police arrested three persons, who had posted pirated films of recently released movies like Rudramdevi, Bahubali, Balebale Magadivoi on some private websites.

Responding to a complaint from Gunasekhar, Director of Rudramadevi film on Friday that rampant Online and physical piracy of his film Rudramadevi was going on thereby eroding revenue, the police plunged into action and nabbed three accused, who were identified as Prashanth Chaitankar, 20, a student residing at Srinivas Nagar Colony, RC Puram, Pavan Kamble, 20, of Bombay Colony, RC puram and Tanveer Ahmed, 30, for committing the offence of Piracy and cheating the public with dishonest intention to earn easy money.

Police said the accused collected the links of some 1200 pirated movies from www.movierulz.to and copied the same in their websites. Recently, they even posted Rudramadevi pirated movie link released on January 10 this year from www.movierulz.com in his website but later removed it as they got the notice from the Film Chambers. So far, the accused earned some 1700$ by uploading some 1200 films. Two CPUs and one internet router and two mobile phones of the accused were seized.

A Team led by Inspector P. Raju, SI G Venkatrami Reddy, SI Madan, and PCs H. Shekar, M. Rajender and PC Kareem cracked the case and apprehended the accused under supervision of Swathi Lakra IPS, Addl. CP for Crimes & SIT, K. Vijender Reddy, Addl DCP, DD, and Dr. B. Anuradha, ACP Cyber Crimes. (NSS)
