Dalit discriminated, insulted at Siddipet

Siddipet: A Dalit was prevented from travelling in a private bus which was taking the devotees to Tirupati temple. Besides preventing him from travelling in the bus, the man was insulted and forced to disembark from the bus. The incident created apprehensions among dalits.

According to sources the incident occurred at Gogatta mandal of newly formed Siddipet district. A private bus operator was taking devotees to Tirupati. As soon as the bus reached Venkatraopet 3 persons boarded the bus; they identified the Dalit and got angry over bus operator Venu. They objected dalit’s presence in the bus and asked to disembark him.

According to reliable sources the bus didn’t move ahead until the person belonging to Scheduled Cast was not made to disembark, while insulting him. On the complaint of Venu, police booked a case against the trio and began investigations.
