Dattaraya condemns KCR for criticising Modi

Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya has strongly condemned Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election speech in campaign for Warangal by-elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Dattaraya alleged that KCR has been target Modi only to hide his failures. He said that the TRS Government did not approach the Centre to seek any help for the State. He said although the BJP-led NDA Government was treating all States equally, the Telangana Government was not coming forward with proposals for different projects.

Dattaraya said that the Centre has granted several projects for Telangana on its own. Citing instances, he said that the Centre has approved 100-bedded hospital for Beedi workers at Sircilla, a medical college worth Rs. 690 crore at Sanathnagar, Rs. 250 crore worth hospital at Nacharam and a National Horticulture University with an estimated cost of nearly Rs. 900 crore.

The Union Minister also informed that a meeting has been convened at New Delhi on November 23 to discuss the issue of cotton farmers. The meeting will be attended by Union Ministers for Agriculture and Textiles and the officials of Cotton Corporation of India. (INN)
